DESCRIPTION
Our Tactical Urban Access Course (TUAC) is not about abseiling and making silly knots. Rather than showing techniques that look fancy, we provide solutions that work! The course covers the use of a wide variety of innovative equipment (air launchers, manual and pneumatic poles and power ascenders) as well as basic climbing skills and the use of minimal gear in urban environment. The first week we will build a comprehensive “toolbox” consisting of skills and techniques. This building block is organized in our purpose built training centre in Amersfoort, The Netherlands.
The second week we will visit several locations around the Netherlands for scenario based training. Where we will utilise the toolbox to its full extent.
Most of the techniques covered in this course do not comply with general legislation in the field of work at height (Health & Safety) and may only be applied by special operators that -due to their specific tasks and work environment- are allowed to work outside the scope of their local general legislation. (Click here for a course that is compliant with international legislation).
Safety is paramount. To ensure a safe learning environment all exercises will be performed with back-up systems (that do not interfere with the concept “Train as yay fight”). To reach a similar risk level (residual risk) during operations; techniques must be trained frequently.
Scenario training is an essential part of the course. Candidates have to be very fit. At the end of the course it all comes together in various practical scenarios.
